Land Parcel B at Handy Road
Posted Date: 5 Feb 2007The Urban Redevelopment Authorities has launched the sale of Land Parcel B at Handy road. Land Parcel B at Handy Road was previously transferred from the Reserve list to the Confirmed list of the Government Land sales Programmed. This was officially announced on the 21 of December last year. This land parcel has a fantastic location. It is not only situated within the prime residential district at Mount Sophia. Shopping and entertainment amenities such as Plaza Singapura, The Atrium @ Orchard and The Cathay are just a stone throw away. It would also be a very attractive residence for those looking for a luxurious life as Land Parcel B at Handy Road is located within the heart of the City between Orchard Road, Singapore’s premier shopping street and Bras Basah,Bugis which is also known as the art, culture and entertainment hub. Today, the Civic District is home to many architecturally significant buildings which include Victoria Theatre & Concert Hall, Singapore Art Museum, National Museum of Singapore and Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay. This provides future residents with a variety of pleasure and lifestyle opportunities. There are other amenities like the convenience of transport and the accessibility of the land parcel which would attract future residence as it is diagonally opposite the Dhoby Ghaut Interchange Station, which would provide easy access to the North-East Line, the North-South Line and the upcoming Circle Line.
This Land Parcel has a site area of around 0.36ha and can generate a maximum permissible gross floor area of around 10,034sqm.A few ongoing developments nearby Land Parcel B are the National Library, the National museum of Singapore, Singapore Management University and the upcoming Arts school. Whether the site will be used entirely for residential use or whether it will be used for residential use with complementary commercial uses at the first storey, the Urban Redevelopment Authorities will leave it to the successful bidder. The height of the building however cannot exceed 38m above mean sea level. Land parcel B is on tender for 8 weeks. It will officially end on the 28 of March at 12 noon. The selection of the successful bidder will be based on only one factor which is the tendered price only.
